Based off of the original medal "Art Nouveau Marianne as Queen of Gaul" GALLIA by Pierre Alexandre Morlon medallion.
Pierre Alexandre Morlon: (born in Macon/France, 1878-1951) attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he was pupil to Falguière, Mercié, Chaplain and H. Dubois. From 1900 Morlon exhibited at the Salon, receiving numerous awards. He received medals in 1903 and 1906, a travel grant in 1910, a gold medal in 1920 and a medal of honor in 1926. He was made Chevalier of the Legion of Honor. Morlon was responsible for numerous war memorials as well as for a large number of medals. His works are in the collections of the Musée de la Monnaie in Paris and in the museum in Gent.
